Emilians 'Novas'
Carmenere-Cabernet Sauvignon, 2008
Chile Red
Colchagua Valley 75cl
The follow up to the trophy winning 2007 that has gone on to become a firm shop favourite. From organically grown grapes, the new 208 is possibly a touch bigger than the previous release. Deep in colour has some typical rustic, herbaceous meaty Carmenere characters on the nose. With lifted cassis and oak too. It's rich and full of sweet black cherry fruit, chocolate and hints of prune and raisin on the palate too, but not in a cooked way. Really vibrant with a red cherry freshness and a long finish. Really very tasty and will drink well over the next 3-4 years.
