Fabulous IGT from Veneto by Allegrini. 80% Corvina, 20% Syrah. An easy choice as one of my wines of the year, it's sheer quality blew me away. Has a lovely ripe, meaty brooding nose with black cherry, plum and hints of chocolate. The same flavours on a rich warming palate, the tannins are soft making it hugely inviting, with good acidity too. Rich and plush and full of dense black cherry, plum and meaty flavours with chocolate and integrated oak. Hugely classy, lovely now or drink over the next 7 years or so.
