Here is the first of our seasonal 6 packs. Rosé is gaining in popularity, and rightly so as some delicious examples are being made, and you don't have to be child free, al fresco and somewhere hot to enjoy them!
Here are six delicious examples, all vibrant and fresh, some really good food styles too. The deeper rosé's working well with richer fish dishes, spicy foods, and hard to match starters. The lighter styles good quaffing or with salads and lighter fish dishes.
We may well be changing this over the months so if you like rosé it's worth checking back.

Domaine Fondreche Cotes du Ventoux Rosé 'L'Instant' 2009
France
It's as delicious as ever. Very pale colour, just a hint of pink. Attractive cherry and red berry fruit on the nose. It's delicate and fresh, citrus and cherry/berry fruit, crisp and tangy with citrus acidity. Delicate and really delicious, really very drinkable and worked well with a lightly spiced thai dish, but equally at home on it's own.

Alpha Zeta R Rosato 2009
Italy
Made solely from Corvina grapes, is fragrant and delicious, with a vibrant pink colour and delicate aromas of cherry blossom on the nose. It is sufficiently full-bodied to drink with food as well as sipping as an aperitif.

Chateau Haut Rian Bordeaux Rosé Clairet 2009

A lovely deep coloured rosé from Haut Rian. 36 hours on skins has given this a lovely vibrant colour. It's a dry, spicy, quite full rosé with lots of ripe, juicy berry fruits. A blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc. Great food style,

Mas Carlot Costieres de Nimes Rosé 2009
France
Bright salmon pink colour, quite vibrant. It's got attractive summer berries on the nose with some cherry and a touch of Grenache white pepper. It's really bright on the palate, again strawberry and cherry with a real perfumed flowery finish, apricots too and then spice. It's really very attractive, loads of flavour and a great summer berry mouthful of a rosé

Le Grand Cros 'L'Esprit de Provence' Rosé 2009
France
This is the brand new 'L'Esprit de Provence'. Made with hand picked grapes using environmentally sustainable farming practices. Classic salmon pink colour. A blend of Grenache and Syrah. The colour really is attractive. Lovely fresh nose with citrus and a touch of red berry. It's dry but with really attractive strawberry and raspberry fruit, citrus and a touch of peach and cherry with subtle spice. Fresh and vibrant, it's really spot on with lovely bright fruit. All very elegant and subtle but lacking nothing. Too many Provence rosé's are just elegant and to me lack fruit, this is elegant with lovely delicate berry fruits. Very easy to drink!

Macia Batle 'Rosado' 2009
Spain
Fabulous full-flavoured food friendly rosé from Mallorca. Made from the local Mantonegro and Callet grape varieties. Strawberries and cream on the nose, followed by ripe summer pudding fruit on the palate. Well balanced, with sweet and juicy fruits leading to a soft, round finish.
