Made by Saint Clair, this is another great value 2009 Sauvignon Blanc. Citrus and tropical fruits on the nose with some herbaceous notes, though not too pungent. It's really fresh and vibrant with lime and mango fruit the main attraction, some grassy notes and really zesty acidity. Full flavoured but well balanced and very drinkable in a kind of gin and tonic way! Really very attractive

Mokoblack Sauvignon Blanc 2009
New Zealand
An impressive well priced new Sauvignon Blanc made by talented winemaker Ant Moore. Attractive perfumed nose with lime and lemon, elderflower, blackcurrant and stone fruits. It's zesty and tangy with lovely pure fruit and really good acidity. Blackcurrant and citrus abound on a hugely characterful palate. It's pretty classic Marlborough Sauvignon but with great purity and almost a tightness.

Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc 2009

A shop favourite for many years now and with the '09 Sauvignon's looking so good I was looking forward to trying this. Quite pale in the glass with a really tightly wound minerally nose of graphite, shale, subtle nettle and herbs, the palate is a little bit more fruity but this is still a very tangy and fresh style with greengage and limey citrus . Very zappy, bright and delicious

This has had some great press including a top of the tasting award at a recent Decanter NZ Sauvignon Blanc tasting. Vibrant nose with blackcurrant, gooseberry, elderflower and passion fruit. It's crisp and tangy with white peach, lime, passion fruit and blackcurrant on an explosive yet balanced palate. Really precise and pure with a great weight of fruit and a tangy crisp clean finish.

Saint Clair 'Wairau Reserve' Sauvignon Blanc 2009
New Zealand
This is Saint Clair's top Sauvignon, coming from selected parcels in the lower Wairau Valley. It's hugely expressive, really pungent asparagus and gooseberry nose with a touch of blackcurrant. It's crisp and clean, really vibrant with lots of balckcurrant and citrus fruit, herbaceous too. It's got lovely acidity, but it's not that shrill type you see so often in Marlborough Sauvignon. It's got an elegance on the palate, that belies the intensity of the nose.
